TruFirm Turf Firmness Meter
The TruFirm has been developed with the primary objective to help greenkeepers with their greens on golf courses. The meter is nevertheless useable for many purposes where turf firmness must be determined like track and field and football fields.
The technology used in the meter is developed by USGA (US Golf Association) and enables quick, reliable, measurement of turf firmness of a green or other sport l fields. The collected data can be used by greenkeepers and field maintenance to determine what kind of circumstances have effect on the firmness so proper preparation and management of the turf can be done.
An important use of this meter is to imprive the champions-ability of a golf course by making the greens firm and fast. Also fairwas and sand bunkers can be prepared properly for this goal.
The patented technology uses a semi-hemisphere hammer that imitates a golf ball and its impact on the turf. The mass is released from a determined height and the impact is recorded and calculated to determine the firmness. The shallower the impact, the firmer the turf is.

Connection with theFieldScout Mobile App
The Trufirm has Bluetooth for connecting to a smart phone and use the free FieldScout Mobile App. This App enables you to see and analyze the measured data recorded by the meter.
The app allows you to see and email information on a grid of zones (3 wide by 3 deep) and has the following possibilities:
- Collects data from FieldScout TDR 300 Soil Moisture Meter (Bluetooth device required) and FieldScout TruFirm Turf Firmness Meter using Bluetooth Smart connection
- Uses your smart phone for time-stamping and geo-referencing the data
