WaterScout SMEC 300 Sensor
The SMEC 300 sensor is a sensor for measuring soil moisture, electrical conductivity and temperature of the soil. Placed in the soil at the depth of your desire you can connect the sensor to a station or sensor reader for monitoring the soil conditions. Salt condtions in combination with the amount of water in and the temperature of the soil have their effects on plant growth. Not only preferable ones, but also soil borne diseases.
Monitor the soil conditions with this sensor and have better management decisions when it comes to irrigation and fertilizing.
The sensor has the following feautures:
- Capacitance-type soil moisture sensor, measures Volumetric Water Content (VWC)
- Carbon ink electrodes provide large measuring surface for electrical conductivity (EC)
- Easy, 1-step EC calibration process
- Can be read with the FieldScout® Soil Sensor Reader (Item 6466) or WatchDog® 2000 and 1000 Series Stations
- Connect up to 4 sensors per station (see the SpecSheet in "Manuals / Literature" for specific station limits)
- WaterScout Calibration Device (Item 6470CAL3V) required unless using Soil Sensor Reader (Item 6466)
