Horiba LAQUAtwin Ca-11C Calciummeter Kit Animal Blood
Milk fever, or Sub Clinical Hypocalcemia (SCH) is a real problem for dairy cows. The LAQUAtwin CA-11C has been specially developed for measurement of ionized calcium in animal blood. Ionized calcium reflects more accurately the current calcemic blood situation compared to total blood calcium as it equals the free available calcium ions.
It is important to note, that the meter measures the free calcium ions in blood. So measurement values can differ (have lower values) than measurements done by laboratoria, when these measure the total calcium in blood.
From field research one can take the following values from the LAQUAtwin CA-11C meter into account, when determining subclinical hypocalcemia in cows using the LAQUAtwin:
• > 1 mmol/L*
: No danger
• 0,9 - 1,mmol/L*
: Heads up, possibly research further
• < 0,9 mmol/L*
: Very possible subclinical hypocalcemia.

Full Kits
The
standard version is a full set with meter plus ,25 mmol/l and 2,50 mmol/L calcium standards (25 ml each), cleaning solution (250 ml), washing bottle, 2 x CR2032 batteries, dropper, instruction and quick manuals.
The
extended kit is available with extra slutions: one extra 1,25 mmol/L and 2,50 mmol/L (25 ml each) and 2 cleaning soluitions 251 (250 ml) extra.
Note : the extended version is available with a delivery time of about 6 weeks

The proteins in blood impact the working of the senor negatively. It is required to clean the sensor with the accompanying cleaning solution.
