Irrometer Tensiometer LT
When you want to measure soil suction in (very) coarse soils, the LT Tensiometer models by Irrometer are the better choice. These have ceramic tips that are suited for coarse soils and will measure soil suction much more accurate than the "standard" Tensiometer models.
Models
The LT models come in 4 different lengths to choose from: 15 cm to 60 cm. They function the same as the standard ones, but have a different ceramic tip for determining soil suction. Use the LT models for (very) coarse soils only. In any other case the standard models are the ones prefered.
Service Kit
Also for the LT models, you will have to purchase a Servicekit (item
ST-6425) dor the Tensiometer to work. One kit is enough for all your Tensiometers.
