Determining the soil moisture levels can be done by measuring the water content (in %) or by soil suction, i.e. the force roots need to use to extract water from the soil.

These Tensiometers by Irrometer combines 70 years of experience in the field of soil suction and practical use. Placing the tensiometers in the root area gives you a pretty accurate idea about necessary water levels for plants.

Suitable for most soil types, but for extra course soils, the use of low tension models is recommendable.
 

Models

There are 5 different lengths to choose from ranging from 15 cm to 90 cm so you can have different possibilities that suits your needs.
 

Tensiometer Service Kit Required

To use the Tensiometers, you'll need a Service Kit (item ST-6425).  Please order one for your Tensiometers, if you don't have one in your possession already.
